Elite Cruises is owned and operated by Jay S. Cohen, R.Ph., J.D., and Jackie Cohen, R.Ph., J.D., L.L.M. Jay* and Jackie** are pharmacists and attorneys. Before becoming a Patent Attorney, Jackie won the prestigious Giles Rich National Moot Court Competition, held at the Federal Circuit, in Washington, D.C. She is currently employed full-time as Patent Counsel for a Pharmaceutical Company and works for Elite Cruises in her spare time. Jay gave up his lucrative litigation law practice to operate Elite Cruises full-time.
Both owners have lots of customer-oriented experience. Jay owned and operated several retail pharmacies and Jackie was a retail pharmacy manager before attending law school. Standing on one's feet in a pharmacy for 12 hours a day was and is not appealing to them. They currently reside with Jackie's teenage daughter and their own daughter in historic Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
Jackie, Jay, and the girls travel frequently by land and sea. In order to keep up with the latest travel trends and be in a position to advise their clients, they try to take at least two cruises a year and one land tour. Jackie also travels throughout North America and Europe for her corporation, which gives her great knowledge of business travel.
The family has experienced most cruise lines and has been to most of the world's continents. The "Family Travel Expert" took her first cruise when she was 3 months old and got to steer a cruise ship on her 7th cruise aboard the Oceania Regatta. She just turned 4 years old. She wants to go to Disney World . . . maybe next year . . .
